Ingredients
- 2 cup Fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
Instructions
Prepare Strawberries
- Place strawberries in a bowl and sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar. Stir well and let them sit for 15--20 minutes until they release their juices. Mash lightly with a fork or blend for a smoother texture.
Make the Ice Cream Base
- In another bowl, whisk together the remaining 1/2 cup sugar, heavy cream, milk, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is dissolved.
Combine
- Stir in the prepared strawberries (along with their juices) into the cream mixture. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours for best results.
Churn in Ice Cream Maker
- Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions (usually 20-25 minutes) until thick and creamy.
Freeze
- Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container. Freeze for 2-4 hours to firm up before serving.
