Steamed Pork Dumplings
These steamed pork dumplings are filled with a mix of ground pork, cabbage and aromatics, then gently steamed until tender and juicy. They’re easy to assemble, full of flavor and pair well with any dipping sauce. They make a great starter or a simple, comforting meal.
Ingredients
- 12 ounces pack of wonton wrappers
- 1 ¾ pounds ground pork
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons green onion, thinly sliced
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 egg beaten
- 5 cups finely shredded Chinese cabbage
Instructions
- Add the ground pork, ginger, garlic, green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, egg and cabbage to a large bowl. Mix until the filling is fully combined.
- Place one wonton wrapper on a flat surface. Add a small spoonful of filling to the center.
- Brush the edges of the wrapper with a little water. Fold and press to seal tightly. You can pleat the edges if you prefer.
- Line your steamer with parchment or lightly oil it so the dumplings don't stick. Arrange the dumplings in a single layer with space between them.
- Steam over boiling water for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the pork is cooked through.
- Serve with hot soy sauce, vinegar, chili crisp or your favorite dipping sauce.
